Weekend Bliss

Happy FRIDAY everyone! I hope you all find joy in the fact that after your work day today you can kick back, relax and maybe even enjoy an ice cold beverage (I know I will). What do you have planned for this glorious spring weekend? It's the last weekend of spring training here in Scottsdale and my family and I have some KILLER seats right behind the San Francisco Giants Dugout. Best view in the park? I think so, and I'm not just talking about the field... hehe.

Here's to hoping this weekend brings you lots of bliss - xo

Two Lips

Tulips will forever remind me of spring time. My mom always had fresh tulips around our house throughout this time of year and I have kept that spring inspiration tucked away in my mind ever since I was a young girl. The delicate flowers make me unbelievably happy. They are so simple, but so perfect at the same time. Whether they are a bright or bold color or simply a fresh white, tulips manage to softly demand all the attention. I love the fact that they droop every which way depending on the sunlight and can still manage to look like they were placed and perfectly styled that way.

Do you have a favorite spring time flower? I don't know if I could choose just one. Tomorrows Friday...Finally!

Perfectly Perfect!

While cruising the Old Navy website tonight I came across these amazingly perfect wedges. Don't you agree that they just scream summer shoes? I believe so! And with their small price tag of only $19.99? Need - immediately. They would be the perfect addition to a lightweight spring dress!

Top Me Off

I consider myself an avid wine lover. When I say avid I mean I enjoy the most buttery Chardonnays that exist..which I know is frowned upon by most connoisseurs - but I don't mind one bit. I like what tastes good to me and a nice chilled glass of chardonnay is one of my favorite ways to unwind. Today I wanted to do a short post on some of my favorite wines, all in different price ranges.

So no matter if you are in the mood to save, spend, or splurge I sure hope this post will enlighten you... Happy Tuesday friends!

J.Lohr Chardonnay - In my opinion, one of the better cheaper wines (yes, I am biased). A full bodied bottle with a hint of butterscotch and florals.

Rutherford Vintners Chardonnay - Stumbled upon this middle price ranged chard at one of my favorite restaurants. I later found out this beautifully finished vino is not sold in any stores in Arizona (so bummed). More reasons to go back and enjoy I suppose!

Rombauer Chardonnay - Probably my most favorite wine of all time. The ultimate buttery-oaky flavor, I just wish this luscious treat wasn't so expensive. I reserve this one for only the most special occasions.

Sunshine Soaking

This weekend was a nice, relaxing one and I am not complaining one bit. I am proud to say that I have basically finished my outdoor patio aside from adding a few decorative accents and maybe a couple more plants. That is, if I can prove that I have a green thumb and actually manage to keep them alive ;) hehe.

I enjoyed every minute of this little project of mine and creating my own floral "designs" by using multi colored pots and planting different types of flowers together. I even got to spray paint the little white table! My idea of a perfect weekend.

The pictures below are a few snapshots I took on Sunday to share with you all! Welcome to a brand new week!

Set for Two...

The weather is absolutely gorgeous right now and I think I might be suffering from a little bit of spring fever. We all know that, mixed with a Friday afternoon is a recipe for being unproductive. All I can think about is a chilled bottle of white wine, a crispy baguette, and a mixture of cheeses and meats to make up a perfect picnic.

One of the resorts in the Valley, The Sanctuary, has views of Camelback mountain that are breathtaking. They offer a free gourmet picnic experience on Sunday afternoons with live music. I think this Sunday SCM and I will try to go :) Can't wait! I may or may not have ideas for a DIY picnic blanket.....

Have a happy weekend- do something outdoors! xo

Sublime Succulents

Succulents are, to me, an essential part of a garden. They can also brighten up any table-scape or windowsill in your home. Especially here in the Southwest...making sure to include some plants that are native to your area is a great way to mix things up. I've never personally had any sort of garden, but there's a first time for everything right? I've finally found some super cute patio chairs to place outside (be expecting pictures soon) and plan on planting some flowers this weekend. If I'm lucky maybe I'll come across some beautiful succulents like these below?

Tomorrow is Friday..what are you looking forward too this weekend?

Delicate and Decadent

I stumbled upon these eye pleasing desserts today on this french blog, Griottes and just the sight of them made my mouth water. These little delicacies are so beyond perfect! Not to mention how amazing each of the photos were styled, total inspiration for some spring baking! The little cloud cookies are to die for, don't you agree?

If I know myself, I know I wont be able to get these little desserts out of my head until I attempt to bake something myself. Happy Wednesday!

Happy Spring!

This evening marks the end of the first day of Spring. Today I cannot help but be grateful for everything I am blessed with in this life. Maybe because Spring signifies a fresh push away from the wintery weather toward the bright awakening sunshine? Or maybe its simply a time that reminds us all to "clean" out our messes from the previous year? All I do know is I love spring and I love the feeling that its never to late to start--or start over.

So, today I'm grateful for you guys - my family - my wonderful friends & boyfriend - and most importantly my life.

Happy Spring...may your pockets fill with lots of sunshine this season ;)

& Tonight I treated myself to some springtime goodies (because its the little things in life that make it all worthwhile).

My Sunday Craft

I have been yearning over the Kate Spade Cloverdale Vase from a few seasons back, and much to my dismay it is very hard to find since it's been discontinued not to mention the high price point. So, I decided I would attempt to re-create the vase myself in a little Sunday DIY. I think it came out pretty cute, and only cost me the price of the vase (TJ Maxx $2.99).

What I used:

Gold Paint (Liquitex from Michael's)

Gold Marker to trace circles on vase before painting

If I had a chance to do it again I probably would use stencils in order to get the circles perfectly even and paint spread smoothly - but overall I love my new vase and I'm proud to say it claims a home on our living room shelf!

A perfect pop for our fresh spring flowers!

Ritzy Couture

My heart practically stopped when I came across this Vogue shoot featuring the beautiful Kate Moss. I don't know what I love more, the gorgeously decorated Ritz Paris or the fabulous couture dresses? This is definitely fit for high society. I'll let you decide for yourself...all in all I am in pure awe. Mostly because of the super chic Coco Chanel Suite bathroom...that pink bubble bath? SWOON!

Things I've Accumulated

I thought that sharing a few items I've purchased lately was a great way to start off the week! This may even become a mini-series on Something most of you know by now I have a small obsession with shopping whether it be clothing, accessories, or even home decor. I figured, why not embrace this small problem and turn it into something positive? ;) (this is me justifying myself hehe) Lets make this week a great one, shall we? Smile...Its MONDAY!

Some of these items aren't available online but I did link to the websites of the stores where I found them, or found similar styles! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend including a super fun St. Patrick's Day!

Scottsdale Arts Festival

The Scottsdale Arts Festival is the annual art show that takes over the Civic Center in the spring every year. I remember going to this same event when I was a little girl and rolling down the grassy hills while my parents enjoyed the art and live music. This year I took on a whole new appreciation for this event. It was so fun and exciting to break away from the usual routine and embrace something different! I was even a buyer this year - I snagged a small 8x10 print of the Chanel mixed media original below - isn't it amazing?!

Happy Friday everyone! Look forward to some fun DIY posts next week...I'm feeling super crafty lately!

Be My Guest

I am thrilled to have Kat from With Love From, Kat guest posting today on the blog. One of my daily reads, WLFK is an impeccably classy blog. Not at all surprising, Kat herself is always perfectly put together. Be sure to stop by I promise you wont be sorry. She really has a great voice, unrivaled style and an eye for design!

"I'm so excited to be guest posting at Something Brue. Sarah came up with the fabulous idea of doing a St. Patrick's Day themed post. I love celebrating this holiday - believe it or not I'm half Irish! I always try to incorporate at least something green into my outfit that day. Green is a tricky color for me to rock so I like to wear green accessories versus green clothing.

The Roberta Freymann chunky bib necklace is so versatile - it can be worn over a plain T or a silky dress. The Kenneth Jay Lane earrings aren't as fancy as you may think, I promise! They can easily be dressed down if you wear them with a great blouse (Equipment blouses are my favorite), jeans, and flats. If all else fails just paint your nails in OPI's "Don't Mess With OPI" polish. It is the perfect St. Patrick's Day green. Thanks for having me, Sarah! Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!"

White + White

The color-blocking trend is all the rage this season and mixing and matching various shades of a certain color is practically everywhere you look. Sure I've seen mixtures of hot pink and coral, navy and turquoise, and even mint green with emerald. What you don't see regularly is white on white or white with cream, a color combo I have grown to love. It creates that beachy feeling and I can't help but to dream of fresh summer air.
