Coral, Of Course!

I swear I find myself becoming more and more fond of the popular neon coral hues, or any brights for that matter. When I saw this skirt at H&M i absolutely HAD to have it. It adds that perfect pop to any outfit and the pleats make it even more fun! It's actually very versatile - pair it with a blazer for work, a tank for those hot days, or a chambray button up for a more funky unexpected vibe. What is the color that you fancy most?

A Polished Sunday

Every girl (and hey, guys too) love to be pampered. Its the best feeling to just let it all go and relax and treat yourself. Today that's exactly what I wanted to embrace as I start preparing for my Labor Day getaway! I thought what better way than to bid farewell to summer than with bright bold toes? Perfectly polished? Check! How was your Sunday?

Its Hard To Avoid

After watching the olympics begin and end and witnessing countless athletes from our country wear that gold medal around their necks, I got to thinking...

When it comes down to life, How can you not help but compare? It is crazy to fathom that all of us "regular" people have many different strengths and talents, but more often than not there is ALWAYS someone who is bigger, better, and more poised at doing it. Sometimes Its un-motivating and other times It doesn't even cross my mind. But tonight I came across this quote. It put everything into perspective.

You can't continuously compare yourself to others - because when you do it leaves little room for you to just be YOU. In a world filled to the tippy-top with individuals trying to leave their mark on the world, it is often hard to find your own path to carve out. Hopefully this quote leaves you with the same humbling inspiration as it did for me.

My Finds, Your Finds

Do you ever find yourself giddy if something that you own pops up on Pinterest, Tumblr, or even in a magazine? I know I am guilty of this, not that it happens often - but when it does I try to give myself a pat on the back. It somehow helps me justify my many purchases, hehe. This happened tonight with my Sam Edleman Black Platform Wedges. I mean honestly, how amazing do they look with this outfit that Wendy from Wendy's Lookbook styled together? A perfect match! Happy Monday..

Sunday Snapshot: Grilled Artichokes

One of my favorite summertime snacks is preparing grilled artichokes. If you know me, you know that I am literally obsessed with these yummy super foods! Today I decided I would share my secret methods and how I perfected my very own dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Total Cooking Time: 35 Minutes

Prepare the artichoke for boiling. Cut approximately 1 & 1/2 inches off of the top. This allows you to trim the smaller leaves in one smooth step. Proceed with snipping off any other thorns on the larger leaves with scissors. This step is not necessary but makes enjoying your artichoke a heck-of-alot safer ;)

Cut the Artichoke in half. You can do this before or after boiling.

Boil the artichoke halves for approximately 15 minutes. Let stand for five minutes and use this time to season to your liking. I usually add salt, pepper, and a tablespoon of olive oil for each half. Drizzle with lemon for added flavor.

Place each half face down on the grill. This step should be measured on temperature of grill as well as personal preference but I typically grill my artichoke for about 15 minutes. Alternate between face down and face up to get an even flavor and texture all around.

Serve and enjoy!

Lasts of Summer

August has always reminded me of Summer drawing to a close. Heading back to school, the miserable AZ heat, and going on your last vacations before reality hits. Now that I actually live in the real world and don't go to school my feelings are slightly different. Although August still looms with heat...I know that I don't have to give up my summer vacay's until after Labor Day. This year, the weekend that signifies summer's end will be spent with some of my favorite people. All my girlfriends from college and I will be renting a beach house for the weekend. I cannot wait! Hopefully I can sport my nautical stripes, white crop jeans, and get the most out of my summer swimsuits!

Pretty Pictures Fix Everything

Okay, I know I know...I have been a BAD blogger. Lately time just seems to slip away and between the new job, friends, and family my life is just a teeny bit crazy now-a-days. However, whats a better way to jump back in than with a quite amazing Lonny room? Think crazy patterns, lots of glam style, and most importantly plenty of textures. SWOON!

Do you look forward to the Lonny issues each month? I know I can always count on them to have, of course, gorgeous images but also plenty of steal-worthy inspiration! Tomorrow is hump-day.

Live, Laugh, Lipstick

This weekend my mom and I were browsing Sephora to find her a new lipstick and naturally it took us about an hour and a half too long. It got me you ever feel like you are slightly boring when it comes to lip color choices? I have my signature berry gloss, my bold red YSL, and of course my everyday go-to clear but I've never been one to really experiment. I did try on a bright coral color on and LOVED it - but decided not to impulse buy. For now i will just day dream about all the possibilities of coral colored kisses...Happy Tuesday!

Sunday Snapshot: Vintage Gems

Don't you love a great vintage find? An antique, a collectable, or even a priceless hand-me-down always make me feel so original. Almost as if I found the one piece that was meant for me. The same feeling happens when I visit my Grandma. She's 93 and has a great sense of style - not just in clothing either. She wore metallic shoes before they were cool and is certain that zebra will never go out of style. We share a styled soul, her and I.

Today's Sunday Snapshot features some of the items that (with fingers crossed) will one day be mine. My favorite, of course, is the most handsome photo of my Grandpa Brue during his days in the service. I also gathered her super chic Zebra print perfect for a gallery wall, a gold gilded unicorn - OBSESSED, and no Sunday Snapshot should go without a signature statement necklace.

Do You Store?

We are all guilty of having millions of magazines placed aimlessly throughout our homes. Shoved, stored, tucked, or rolled. Whether they sit on the coffee table and act as makeshift coasters or simply sit beneath your bed - we all have them. Tonight I got to thinking after glancing at my pile of decor, fashion and gossip magazines... why hasn't anyone come up with a creative way to store our many mags? Surprisingly, I came across some unique ideas that make these wonderful reads easily accessible AND easy on the eyes!
