A Ghostly Halloween

Happy Halloween!
I remember growing up Halloween was always one of my favorite holidays. A night to dress up, become someone make believe and get loads and loads of candy! What more can you ask for? No matter if you are dressing up, baking, decorating, taking out your little ones, or simply handing out candy it seems as though it is always a carefree evening! Enjoy.

In honor of this ghostly holiday I thought it would be only fitting to feature a few of my favorite styled "ghost" chairs today.

Do Something

Sometimes you gotta do a little work to get those results you've been wishing for.

If you strive for change in your life - do something different.
If you yearn to build up your savings account - make a budget and stick to it.
If you're unhappy in a relationship - speak up.
If you desire a new career - work hard and actively seek out a new one.

It's funny isn't it? Verbs = change. We all have trials and tribulations throughout life, but if you think about order to change something you are un-happy with in your world the easiest solution is to DO SOMETHING. Ready? ...GO!

Glam Pumpkin DIY

As halloween inches closer and closer I have been feeling very festive lately. After visiting the pumpkin patch on Sunday I decided to do something a little different with my pumpkins this year. Rather than the usual carving, I opted for a DIY high fashion pumpkin crafting style. Taa-Daa...I give you Something Brue's sultry studded pumpkin, a sequined pumpkin, and a tulle draped spooky pumpkin.

Of course, for tradition sake, I left one to cut open and roast the seeds and leave by our front door on Hallows eve! What is your take on my un-traditional pumpkins? What do your pumpkins look like this year?

Punkin Pickin'

Halloween festivities, an Arizona taco festival, and out of town guests made for an enjoyable but certainly busy weekend. The AZ weather, however, is seriously still torturing us desert dwellers. All I want to do is wear my boots, leather, and fur vests but the sunshine and 90 degree temps have no mercy. Sunday we did get the chance to head out and pick a few pumpkins at our nearby pumpkin patch to have ready for carving and crafting later this week. My leather leggings made thier way out of my drawer and happily into their first appearance of the fall season.

This-a-Way & That-a-way

I have been smitten by this Prada Marfa inspired art since Gossip Girl fans were given their first look into Lilly Van Der Woodsen's Penthouse apartment in the Upper East Side. I instantly assigned this piece of artwork a number on my ultimate wish-list. At the time, however, I was unaware that Prada Marfa was actually a stand alone store in the middle of nowhere TX - which makes it even that much cooler! The Marfa is a relatively plain, simple monochromatic color scheme with plain text, yet this piece commands attention in any room it occupies. Funny how art and fashion share many of the same characteristics.

Trend Gawker: Elbow Patch Knits

There is nothing more comfortable and easy than throwing on an oversized knit sweater, a pair of favorite jeans, and your go-to flat boots. Knit sweaters seem to have been around since the beginning of time and I often find myself searching for a way to spice up this staple winter item. Last year - after seeing a few different styles rocking an elbow patch - my view on knits has been forever changed. It creates the perfect way to add that extra layer of texture, pop of color, and even originality. This season the elbow patch trend seems to be circling back around and becoming more prominent than ever. I couldn't be more thrilled for all the possibilities!

Dem Bones

Halloween is just around the corner and I must say that I absolutely love this holiday! The parties, the treats, and of course the creative costumes. My good friend is throwing an early halloween party this Friday and I am so excited to dress up with SCM. I know, I know I somehow talked him into doing a "couple" costume..I must say I am pretty persuasive when push comes to shove!

This year I decided we would opt for a more traditional Halloween costume. Instead of dressing as the favorite cast member of "The Voice" or poking fun at a political figure - we are taking our costumes back to the basics.

Low and behold...his & hers stylish skeleton costumes! Mostly effortless, but bound to bring priceless photos of our night. Happy Halloweeeeeeeen friends! What are you dressing as?

Jumpin' for JOY!

So i've been a bad blogger. I know some of you know how it feels to just not have enough OOMPH to muster up a blog you take a little (or a week long) break. ;-) But I'm back, and what better way to start off the week than with an outfit post? It has finally begun to cool down here in Scottsdale and this weekend brought nice enough weather to bust out the first boot wearing evening of the season! {happy dance/jumping for joy}

Sunday offered slightly warmer weather so I opted for a short peplum skirt & my favorite combat boots! What was your weekend wear like? Are you already bundled up or can you squeeze a couple more weeks out of those summer clothes?

Trend Gawker: Skater Skirts

Don't you just love how the skater skirt is totally taking over? Move over tight and skinny - fearless and flowy has steadily made its way into our closets as a fall must have. Even though cooler weather is closing in on us and our bare legs, these skirts make for a perfect transition from summer into fall. Pair this trend with a slouchy knit sweater and some booties and voila - the perfect flirty fall ensemble!

I have picked out some skater skirts that have been on my radar lately. What would you pair these patterns with?

Halloween Inspired

Nothing says fall like crisp October weather, changing leaves, and hues of orange brown and red. What I love even more than these little tid-bits is dressing the part. I am slightly obsessed with fall clothing...anything from boots to pea coats I am totally smitten. Today's fave look captured my heart with that shocking orange coat. I have been dreaming of a colorful coat since the weather has cooled down. What is a fall staple you are willing to make a bold statement with this season?
